Our Mission
DOXA Christian University is committed to providing Christ-centered education that transforms lives and prepares students for missional leadership in their communities and professions.
Core Christian Values
We uphold biblical principles including integrity, compassion, service, excellence, and stewardship. All members of our community are expected to embody these values in their academic, personal, and professional lives.
Statement of Faith
We affirm the Apostles' Creed and the fundamental doctrines of the Christian faith. Students are expected to respect and uphold these foundational beliefs while engaging in respectful dialogue about theological perspectives.
Academic Policies
Academic Integrity
All academic work must be original and properly cited. Plagiarism, cheating, or any form of academic dishonesty will result in disciplinary action, including possible dismissal from the university.
Attendance Policy
Regular attendance is expected for all classes. Students missing more than 20% of class sessions may receive a failing grade. Excused absences require documentation and prior approval when possible.
Grade Appeals
Students may appeal grades within 30 days of receiving them. The appeal process involves consultation with the instructor, department chair, and academic dean if necessary.
Academic Probation
Students with a GPA below 2.0 will be placed on academic probation. Continued poor performance may result in academic suspension or dismissal.
Student Conduct
Code of Conduct
All students must maintain high standards of personal conduct that reflect Christian values and respect for others. This includes treating all community members with dignity and respect.
Prohibited Behaviors
The following behaviors are strictly prohibited: harassment, discrimination, violence, substance abuse, inappropriate sexual conduct, dishonesty, and any behavior that violates Christian principles or civil law.
Disciplinary Process
Violations of the code of conduct will be addressed through a fair and transparent process that includes investigation, hearing, and appropriate disciplinary measures ranging from warnings to dismissal.
Restorative Justice
When appropriate, we employ restorative justice principles to help students learn from their mistakes and restore relationships within the community.
Spiritual Life
Chapel Attendance
All students are required to attend weekly chapel services. These gatherings provide spiritual nourishment, community worship, and opportunities for spiritual growth.
Spiritual Formation
Students are encouraged to participate in spiritual formation activities including Bible studies, prayer groups, service projects, and mentoring relationships.
Religious Accommodations
We respect diverse Christian traditions and provide reasonable accommodations for students' religious practices while maintaining our core Christian identity.
Ministry Opportunities
Students are encouraged to engage in ministry opportunities both on campus and in the community, developing practical ministry skills alongside academic learning.
Technology & Digital Citizenship
Acceptable Use Policy
Technology resources must be used responsibly and in accordance with Christian values. Prohibited uses include accessing inappropriate content, harassment, or any illegal activities.
Social Media Guidelines
Students are expected to use social media in ways that honor God and reflect positively on the university. Inappropriate posts may result in disciplinary action.
Academic Technology
Students must maintain access to required technology for coursework and follow all software licensing agreements and copyright laws.
Privacy & Security
Students are responsible for protecting their personal information and respecting the privacy of others in all digital communications.
Residential Life
Community Living
Residential students are expected to contribute to a positive living environment that supports academic success and spiritual growth for all residents.
Visitation Policies
Visitation hours and policies are designed to maintain appropriate boundaries and create a safe, respectful environment for all students.
Roommate Responsibilities
Students must respect their roommates' rights to study, rest, and privacy while maintaining cleanliness and order in shared living spaces.
Campus Safety
All students must follow safety protocols, including proper use of security systems, reporting suspicious activity, and maintaining awareness of emergency procedures.
Financial Policies
Tuition & Fees
All tuition and fees must be paid by established deadlines. Late payments may result in additional fees and restrictions on enrollment.
Financial Aid
Students receiving financial aid must maintain satisfactory academic progress and comply with all aid requirements to remain eligible.
Refund Policy
Refunds for tuition and fees are calculated based on the withdrawal date and follow established university policies.
Scholarship Requirements
Scholarship recipients must maintain specified academic standards and may be required to participate in service activities or maintain specific conduct standards.
Health & Wellness
Health Requirements
All students must provide proof of required immunizations and health insurance coverage. International students must maintain health insurance throughout their enrollment.
Mental Health Support
We provide counseling services and mental health resources to support students' emotional and spiritual well-being. Students are encouraged to seek help when needed.
Substance Abuse Policy
The use of alcohol, tobacco, and illegal drugs is prohibited on campus. Students struggling with substance abuse will be provided with support and resources for recovery.
Disability Services
Students with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodations to ensure equal access to education. Documentation and accommodation requests should be submitted to the appropriate office.
International Students
F-1 Visa Requirements
International students must maintain full-time enrollment and comply with all F-1 visa regulations. Failure to maintain status may result in loss of visa eligibility.
Cultural Integration
We provide support for international students' cultural integration while helping them understand and adapt to American academic and social expectations.
Work Authorization
International students may work on campus up to 20 hours per week during the academic year. Off-campus work requires proper authorization.
Travel & Re-entry
Students traveling outside the US must ensure their documents are current and may need to obtain travel signatures before departure.
